Please meet Susan Suter, caregiver/care companion for YNC. Susan joined the YNC team in February of 2019. Susan had previously worked in homecare before leaving to care for a loved one. When Susan was ready to return to work, she called around to different agencies to learn about their organizations. Susan recalls her first communication on the phone with YNC and remembers how helpful and positive that first interaction was. Susan decided that YNC was the best fit for her. Susan states “YNC offered flexible scheduling and I noticed that everyone I met within the organization had a serving heart”.
YNC is happy we checked off everything Susan desired in an employer.
When Susan was asked about the favorite part of her position, without hesitation, Susan states “relationships with my clients”. Susan feels successful and thrives in her position when her clients light up like a Christmas tree upon her arrival. “I love when I arrive and they are happy to see me”. Susan enjoys getting to know her clients, listening to their stories, their lives and places they traveled through the years. Susan also enjoys cooking and making homemade meals “breakfast” for her clients and mentioned having one particular client that enjoys being pampered, washing and styling her hair, “it’s the little things that people appreciate”.

Susan is a first time Grandmother to 6 month baby girl “Ava”. She is enjoying this phase of her life, reveling in what life has to offer. She is proud of her adult children and their independent lives and beams when speaking about them. The joy of watching her own child become a parent for the first time or watching another child become a successful teacher. Susan definitely is proud of the children she has raised.
When Susan is not working you will find her spending time with Ava, cooking, working on digital photo books, spending time at the beach and attending field hockey games where her daughter coaches.
